Self-Portrait Style Steal

‘Who do you think best represents the Self-Portrait woman?
She’s not afraid to stand out. She definitely doesn’t want to blend in. She wants to light up, she likes attention, I think, because you get noticed when you wear Self-Portrait’.
Self-Portrait is definetly a comtemporary label to watch and it’s the red carpet label that normal people can afford.

Deisgner Han Chong co-founded label Three Floor and then decided to branch out on his own with Self-Portrait. It’s success has been rapid with Bergdorf Goodman and Net-a-Porter both picking up the line and the rest, as they say is history.

Celeb inspiration:

Trend Report; Schutz Sandals for less.

Much like Victoria Beckham, when Olivia Palermo gives her seal of approval to a new accessory, we mere mortals take note. The model and fashion guru has put that coveted stamp of approval on Schutz’s Juliana Sandal.

The Juliana is a classic caged sandal, comes in a range of different colours and doesn’t cost as much as you would expect. Palermo has styled hers with a classic black pants, skirt and shirt combo but I can envisage these working just as easily with cropped jeans from Zara or River Island and a nice shirt.

Some street style inspiration;

The best news is ladies, I have found a high street version of these beauties which you can shop here

Alternatively you can shop the Schutz Juliana here

Will you be buying the real deal or saving your pennies?

Ted To Toe

When it comes to fashion there’s little these two amazing fashion bloggers don’t know between them.

Louise Roe is an English television presenter, model and fashion journalist. I have followed her since her days of staring in ‘The City’ with Olivia Palermo and Whitney Port.

Christine Andrews of ‘Hello Fashion Blog’ is absolutely gorgeous personified, both inside and out and I recommend you follow her on Snapchat, she comes across as a really down to Earth lady who loves her family and her fashion.

So when I spotted both of these leading fashionistas in Ted Baker, I thought it’s time for another ‘Ode To Ted’.

Christine’s dress is currently HALF PRICE and you can buy it here

I love the peach pop of colour on this and the embellished collar too.

Louise is dressed ‘Ted To Toe’.

Sleeveless trenches

Sleeveless jackets or trenches are the unsung hero of transitional dressing. You may think a jacket that’s missing one of it’s main components is a waste of money but hear me out. When it’s warm outside, wear it with a sleeveless top, when it’s cooler, try it with a jumper instead. Olivia Palermo and Victoria Beckham are major fans of this trend so that’s me sold. Saying that, I haven’t ever spent big money on a piece like this.

Celebrity inspiration:

Daniel Wellington Watches

‘A Daniel Wellington watch is stylish, elegant and can be worn by men and women, no matter what the occasion or the dress code’

I can’t believe when I started my blog, roughly nine weeks ago, I predicted in one of my first posts that these watches would be HUGE. It wasn’t such a hard one to call, they are amazing pieces.

Back then, it seemed to me that the only place stocking them were Asos. I love Asos but I also love trying some things, such as a watch on, especially when these beauties cost over €130 and up.

Now I can happily report that Asos don’t have that exclusive tag of being the only stockists of Daniel Wellington anymore. Fields Jewellers, Keanes, Hartmanns Of Galway, Tower Jewellers Dublin and even Littlewoods Ireland to name a few are stocking them so it’s time to get shopping around ladies, ask for your discount and get the best price you can.

High street Inspiration;

With replaceable leather and NATO straps, they perfectly compliment your different outfits. So really it’s like paying for one watch initially and then buying a different strap and being able to achieve many different looks!

What’s not to love?

You can price them HERE: http://www.fields.ie/catalogsearch/result/?q=Daniel+Wellington+women+

Raising the hemlines

Classy is the original black’

It’s being hailed as the new hero piece of this season, that’s right ladies, the mini skirt is back if it ever really left that is.

According to eBay sales data, it’s the second most sold skirt style worldwide, falling just below its more conservative cousin, the A line. So with this being the hot commodity of the moment, I thought I’d share some of my picks from the high street with you.

Celebrity style inspo;

Lady in red

‘There is a shade of red for every women’ Audrey Hepburn.

With red being such a commanding and winning force at the summer’s race meets, I decided to style something in red for you all.

It sometimes might seem that modern style is veering more and more in the direction of androgynous looks with boyfriend jeans and oversized shirts etc but there’s still one ultra feminine piece that’s been embraced by style setters and celebrities alike and that’s the full skirt.

I’ve had my eye on a certain piece by the lovely Marion Murphy Cooney for a while now and when I get home from holidays, I will have to call to her Design Atelier.

Some street style inspiration;

Steal her style:

This is the skirt of my dreams from Marion Murphy Cooney and it’s from her ‘pocket friendly’ collection as she calls it herself – coming in at just €50. Call 067 31265 for more information. Also available in black and blue with sizes from 8-14.

You can shop a lace long sleeved top HERE

Shop some taupe court shoes HERE and a cheaper alternative HERE and HERE

If you want to pair your full red skirt with a white blouse you can shop a reduced one HERE or HERE

I personally love the more full shirt and skirt combo. I think going with a fitted top is what we would all expect, it’s certainly what I always style with a full skirt so this is a nice break from the usual.

What do you think of this look?

Getting to grips with blanket scarves

‘Always dress well but keep it simple’

So while I’m on the hunt for a lilac pashmina to match a wedding outfit I just bought on holidays, word on the street in Ireland is that summer has well and truly been postponed this year.

Now it’s not all doom and gloom because I get to talk about possibly my favourite trend of last autumn and winter (let’s face it, it’s time to embrace autumn in Ireland) the blanket scarf.
There are scarves and then there are blanket scarves. Blanket scarves are a giant version of a normal scarf and they are warm, cosy, comfortable and seriously versatile. I lived in mine that I got from Asos last year. They were only €20 each roughly so this fashion trend is accessible to everyone.

Some street style inspo on how to style the blanket scarf!

I love how this last girl has tucked her blanket scarf into her belt almost like a coatigan.

Time for me to share some high street and online picks.
